The primary traffic operating system that we use is Manpack, by MANDATA.
Within the warehouse, the operating system is Warehouse (also by Mandata). This is used in conjunction with PSION TEKLOGIX RF technology, which controls the 9,500 space, narrow-aisle environment. This facilitates both pallet and case-picks from as many picking faces as are required at any given time.
Whilst goods are in transit, their progress is monitored using a brand new Navman GPS tracking system, giving us, and our customers valuable real-time information. As a back up, trailers are tracked separately.
Through Mandata, we are able to capture a variety of information for customers, both for their own KPI and data requirements. POD scanning is done within 48 hours of delivery and usually nearer 24 hours. These are then made available for customers to view. This all helps us to operate as efficiently as possible.
Each vehicle is fitted with a Siemens Satellite Navigation Device, which enables two-way communication between the driver and the traffic office. This is in addition to them having the most up-to-date cab phones from Vodafone.
Due to investment in improving our service we are now able to invoice via e-mail in a PDF format. There is also a benefit that the PODS relative to the invoice are attached in order with the e-mail. This also conforms to our Environmental Policy of minimising waste
